Television has become a necessity in today's average life style. The average person will watch at least 2 hours of t.v. in a day. That's at least 14 hours a week, some people watch up to 50 hours of television a week! The cable companies realize how popular t.v. has become and it is because of the popularity of watching shows, news, or sports that keep money flowing from your pocket, and into the cable company's.
Recently cable companies have been exposed for the amount that they over price for their services. With this information leaking many alternatives have been discovered. The most recent is the ability to watch satellite t.v. on your computer. What is so appealing about this is that there are no monthly fees, you get 1,000s of channels for a small upfront fee that is cheaper than what cable companies charge for one month of service. Better yet, non local sports (like west coast football showing on the east coast) is readily available! Along with sports these 3000+ channels offer international channels along with special interest channels. High definition is also available along with fast upfront streaming. I had Comcast for the longest time, but they never offered HD cable in my house. In order to even get a premium package I needed to pay double what I pay for satellite t.v. on my computer!
Do we really want, or even need, cable companies digging into our pockets and taking hand fulls of money away from us? Seems like a pretty easy question to answer. Comcast and Verizon are going to continue to take and overcharge us until we do something about it. Keep yourself from being a victim.
