I have been working from home for about two years now. My business is Internet-based so naturally I spend a lot of time on the computer. My family has come to accept the fact that if I am in my office at my desk I am working and that should be respected. That was always the case until very recently, until I discovered satellite TV for my PC.
Before you get the wrong idea let me explain. I spend long hours daily at the computer. I love it, as a matter of fact; I think I am emotionally attached to my computer; that is something that I probably need to look into. But for me, a day without the Internet is like a day without water. Well, okay, that might be a little extreme, but you get the point.
What I am trying to say is that I spend a lot of time working and all of my work is done on the computer. Because of that I do whatever I can to enhance that experience. I have decorated my office in an inspirational manner; I have a nice desk with a comfortable chair, good lighting, I burn candles and incense while I work (a 70s generation thing) and I often listen to music.
I really am not a big fan of TV but lately I have found that at the end of the day I like to relax with a movie or perhaps watch the home and garden networks. When I came across the ad for the satellite TV for computers I began doing research about the services. As I learned more about it I decided to give it a try. After all, the downloadable software is very inexpensive and there are not any recurring fees.
Fortunately I also have a headset to use with my speakers. You may wonder why that is fortunate and I am going to tell you. As I said at the beginning of this article, my family has accepted that if I am at my desk I am working, I would not want to disappoint them with the sound of a movie playing, hehe. Well, I have now found that watching a little TV here and there motivates me. It gives me a break from the daily routine of my business.
It is awesome to be at my desk and enjoy watching TV shows from around the world. If you spend a lot of time working at your computer I think you would love having this software installed. Like I said, it is very low priced and it is a one time fee. But if you want to keep the image of the hardworking business person do not tell people that you have satellite TV on you PC, it may ruin your image!

Outlook Express is Not Saving Copies of Sent Items
Outlook Express will not create a copy of your outgoing email and place it in the Sent items folder if the Sent items folder is damaged.
To fix this problem you can use a very reliable tool to repair the damaged folder or you can do it manually yourself. Using a tool such as Outlook Express Email Recovery is a very quick and simple way of recovering any or all damaged.dbx files.
Fixing this manually AND recovering your current sent items messages depends on how damaged the Sent Items folder is.
If you are able to access your Sent Items folder then you should be able to copy y it to a new folder, which you can create in Outlook Express just by right clicking on your Local Folders and then selecting New Folder. You can name the folder something meaningful, such as Temp Sent Items and then click on OK.
Now you can copy your Sent Items messages from the damaged folder to the new folder you created.
When you have all the Sent Items messages that you want to keep you can then delete the damaged folder.
Before you delete the damaged folder you will need to close all applications that are running and then any messages you have open as well as close Outlook Express. Then locate your sent items.dbx folder, which you can do by performing a search for all your folders by using *.dbx to locate all files with the file extension of dbx. Then simply delete that file. Now you can re-open Outlook Express and the program will then automatically create a new Sent Items.dbx file. You should first test the new folder by sending a test email to see if the new folder is now getting a copy saved to the new Sent Items folder. If it is, you can now recopy the files you moved to the temporary folder to the new Sent items folder.

How to Write Ebooks - Converting a Word File Into a PDF File - Installing PDFCreator
So you've written an eBook and you've done it in Microsoft Word. But now you have a problem because you need to convert it into a PDF.
But how? Or did you make a mistake? Should you have written it as a PDF directly?
You can write a PDF file directly using tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro. However, it isn't necessary to invest that much in a publishing tool. You can do the same thing with Word and a PDF converter.
I'm a poor writer so I'm going to use an Open Source tool called PDFCreator (version 0.9.9 to be exact) available from SourceForge.net. This is available under the GNU public license. However, you can buy PDF converters which work essentially the same way as I'm going to talk about.
Installing PDFCreator is a breeze.
You can find it through web search (such as Google) or directly on SourceForge.net. If you end up on the PDFCreator site, simply click on the download button and it will download from SourceForge.net for you.
Once you've downloaded the.exe file simply click on it. It will begin by asking you the language you are going to use and then it enters the standard Microsoft installation wizard. The wizard will step you through various screens.
The only tricky one is the usual basic install, custom install. In this case it is Standard Installation or Server Installation. This gives you the option of making PDFCreator available to all computers on your network or just your own. Of course, if you don't have a home network it's a moot point. I used a standard (local) installation.
You have the option of installing PDFCreator as a browser add-on to Firefox and IE. Personally, this is a waste of time. The whole point of tools such as this is to give you the ability to print to a printer and have it convert the result to a PDF. You provide the same functionality by using the print button and selecting the PDFCreator printer. So save memory and speed up the browser load time.
Other than that it's a pretty standard installation. Pick your options and it will slowly install.

Gedit - Is This a Good Simple Text Editor For Linux?
If you are a long time Linux user or have just switched to Linux, one program that will be included with quite a few Linux distributions is Gedit. Gedit is a simple text editing program that could be considered the equivalent to Windows notepad, but it actually does quite a bit more than notepad.
Spell Check
Gedit does have a spell check feature which is nice. If you misspell a word, it will be underlined in red like on many popular word processing programs. This can be turned on and off. If I had to strip down an Access database into its key components, it would be tables, forms, queries and reports. You could get by without getting involved in more complicated features such as macros and VBA code.
