Spyware Coders and the Civil Society

Because of spyware's illegal invasion of privacy, it can be categorised as a criminal act. Many people who are affected due to this illegal invasion claimed that they did not allow the spyware to access their computers, however, the spyware producers claimed that the spyware can not enter a computer without the consent of the user.

The reason behind spyware infiltrations to home computers is that many users ignored the end users agreement that normally follows while downloading any freeware. Therefore, this has formed a major defensive point for a spyware coder. Consequently, spyware coders have been found to be using the loopholes to their own advantage.

Consumer reports released in 2007 informs that the rate of spyware attacks on home computers has dropped down due to the strict action of law enforcement agencies against spyware companies. In United States, the legal authorities have introduced some more rules for dealing with different spywares.

According to these law it is illegal to install any software that monitors user activities, and grabs Internet surfing habits of the user or to access the passwords and confidential data without the consent of the owner. Any one involved in it would be prosecuted.

As a result of this, end user license agreements as well as click wrap agreements have been found to follow every executable programs or freeware prior to installations. But, not without the usual dose of spyware hidden programs.

End user agreements need to be checked every time you are installing software on your personal computer. A spyware can be disinfected by an effective anti - spyware software but there are some cases when the spyware goes beyond the level of control. This is where the long arm of the law is invoked.
