Windows Registry Cleaner - A Useful Tool in Your Aresnal

When using personal computer or laptop containing a Microsoft Operating System, it important to know how to clean the registry.

The registry, a complex system database that contains everything from system information and setting to information on software that has been installed on that computer, can often become bogged down and full of unused information that will slow down the computer if not properly maintained.

Many times people running on slow computers will resort to defragging their harddrive and maybe uninstalling unused software or deleting unused data and files. While this is decent enough practice for the beginning user, the same should be done to the registry.

Everytime new software is installed, the registry maintains information regarding this software. When the software is uninstalled, most times the registry entries remain. Over time, the registry can become so full that it will take time for Windows to dig through all of the useless information within the registry just to find the actual information it needs. This is why it is important to know how to properly clean and maintain your registry.

Plenty of software programs are available that can scan your computer and your registry and make you aware of any registry entries that are no longer needed. They will then allow you to choose if you would like them to be removed. This is a great way to gain some much wanted speed in your computer by simply running the registry cleaner and removing old entries. Using the included Regedit, that comes with the Windows Operating system, is a little more difficult and should be left to professionals.
