The facts are that XP has been around for several years now and it's still going strong. Although Microsoft stopped supporting it last year, millions of people are using this operating system throughout the World... and are experiencing problems with the registry.
Like all other Windows systems, XP has a central database at its core. This database, known as the "registry" is simply the database where all of the settings and options are stored for Windows. Everything from how many Internet favorites you have to which wallpaper you have on your desktop is all stored here. And with so much data in one place, the chances for it to get damaged or corrupted in some way is huge. This problem is compounded with the fact that Windows actively updated the database every time you use your PC. Even when you're browsing the Internet (like now), your computer is adding and updating the files of the registry.
To fix this, you just need to be able to clean all the bad files from the registry. This might sound simple but because the database has over 10,000 files inside, it's literally impossible for anyone (including Bill Gates) to do this by hand, so we need to employ a tool or 'robot' to do it for us. This is where registry cleaners come in - to clean out the system by scanning through all your files and removing the problematic ones.
The best registry cleaner is one which finds & cleans the most problems. Not only does this mean that you will have a faster computer but it also means that the power of your PC will be improved.
